Molly Ruth Neal

Molly Ruth Neal, 88, of Lemoyne, PA passed peacefully into the arms of her beloved Jesus on December 13, 2023. Molly was born on May 15, 1935 to Lewis and Elsie Doughten in Millerstown, PA. She graduated from Greenwood High School and joined the Air Force in 1954. She served 2 years before her honorable discharge. Molly married Roger Neal and together they had one daughter, Merridy. After an unfortunate divorce, Molly went on to pioneer her way as a single mother. She worked hard to provide by taking a job in insurance for Prudential where she worked until her retirement. Molly served on the prayer team at Christ Community Church in Camp Hill for more than 20 years, and especially enjoyed her time volunteering at the Capital Area Pregnancy Center in Camp Hill, alongside her sister, Marlene, for more than 15 years. Molly was preceded in death by her parents and 4 siblings, Bill Doughten, Elaine Derr, Lois Lainaweaver, and Marlene Buckley. She is survived by her daughter, Merridy Sersen, 3 grandchildren, Ryan (Jenny) Sersen, Rebekah Englebach, and Randy (Andrea) Sersen, 10 great-grandchildren, and several nieces and nephews. Molly was a strong woman. Witty. Courageous. Kind. She shared her radiant hope with every passerby. She gave extravagantly to all she loved, selflessly to those in need, and sacrificially to many ministries and missions. She was a woman of faithful and fervent prayer who daily persevered. She would always say that the one day she doesn’t pray is Thanksgiving Day because that day is reserved only for giving thanks to the Lord for all He has done. Truly she witnessed His goodness and mercy here in this land of living. Molly kept everyone around her laughing with her hilarious and unforgettable stories. She had a way of ending even the most serious conversations with a joke. Her smile lit up every room she entered. Her eyes shined brightly of Heaven’s love. Our hearts are heavy with the ache of her absence, but oh, the joy to know those tired feet are free from pain and dancing with her beloved Jesus! A viewing will be held at Christ Community Church on Sunday, December 17th at 3pm followed by a celebration of her life at 4pm. Please wear something purple (her favorite color). In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorial contributions be sent to Boyer Family Funeral Home, 230 N. High Street, Duncannon, Pa. 17020.
