James G. Fowler

It is with profound sadness and endless love that we announce the passing of James Gilbert Fowler, 77, of Landisburg. Jim went home to be with the lord on July 16th 2026, surrounded by his family. He was a tremendous fighter through all of his illnesses and was a true medical miracle. He was born September 27th to James and Bernice Fowler of Greene County PA. Jim served his country in the Vietnam war and was stationed in Germany. He worked 17 years at Mobil Chemical in Temple Texas and 17 years at Fry Communications prior to retiring. At the young of 22, Jim married his best friend and the love of his life, Linda. From the moment they shared their first laugh they were inseparable. Together, they shared 55 years of marriage, building a beautiful life filled with laughter, love, adventures, and unwavering support for one another. He was a devoted father to his girls and the best Pop to his beautiful grandkids. To Jim, his family was his greatest legacy. Whether coaching a community soccer game, tinkering in the garage, teaching his girls how to change a tire, mowing the grass, grilling dinner on the back porch or simply taking a Sunday afternoon nap after church, he was always happiest when surrounded by his loved ones. Jim leaves behind a legacy of love, kindness, and unwavering support. He is survived by his wife Linda, daughters Megan Brashear and Dawn Fowler, son-in-law Andrew Brashear and his grandkids Chase and Kayleigh Brashear. He was preceded in death by his mother and father James and Bernice Fowler, sister Grace Doerr, Uncle John and Aunt Jean Hopshire, dear friends Paul and Dorothy Borders, John Kiner, Jesse Palameno, his beloved dogs Hershey, Penny, Duke and Rufus and other dear friends and family. Jim showed us all the true meaning of hard work, loyalty, and unconditional love. We will miss his laugh, his wisdom, and his comforting presence every single day. There will be a private service for the family. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to the Mt. Gilead Global Methodist church, in Shermans Dale PA, in Jim's memory as his church was always close to his heart. He will be greatly missed and forever remembered in all the hearts who knew him.
