Edward T. Albright Jr.

Edward T. Albright Jr., 72, of Oak Road, New Bloomfield, passed away peacefully on Monday, October 28, 2024, in Community General Osteopathic Hospital surrounded by his loving family. Born November 17, 1951, in Harrisburg, he was the son of Betty Albright, and the late Edward T. Albright Sr. Ed was a community minded guy and everyone’s friend. He was hyperactive in everything he could possibly help with. He was a 1970 graduate of Susquenita High School, served his country in the United States Coast Guard. He served New Bloomfield Borough as the Mayor, serving on the water authority, Zoning officer and any other job that needed done. He also took care of the Bingo and lemonade stand at the carnival. He was a member of Adams Lodge 319 F&AM, the International and Central Thunderbird Club, New Bloomfield Lions Club and Fire Co., Zembo Temple where he was an usher and was the drum major for the Zembo Highlanders. He served on The Perry County Republican Committee and New Bloomfield VFW 7463 where he served in the Perry County Honor Guard. He was a driver for Maguires Ford in Duncannon and was a valued employee of Boyer Family Funeral Homes, New Bloomfield and Duncannon. He was a loving husband, father, grandfather, brother and son. He was kind, generous, strong-minded and admired by many. He enjoyed Sunday dinner with his granddaughter, loved going to the casino and date night with his wife on Fridays, Philadelphia Eagles, kayaking, watching his granddaughter race her dirt bike and taking his dog and best friend, Winston III, to the Red Rabbit every Sunday. Surviving is his wife of 53 years, Brenda Wolf Albright. Two daughters, Heather Sims and husband Dave and Shannon Malahosky and husband Shawn both of Duncannon. Two granddaughters, Mattie Sims and Nova Malahosky. His mother, Betty Albright of Duncannon, to whom he was an attentive caregiver and a sister Peggy Greaney. He was preceded in death by his father, Edward T. Albright Sr. A Celebration of Life will be held at 11 AM on Friday, November 1, 2024, in The Family Life Center, 27 Shortcut Road, Newport, Pa. Rev. Larry Hale will officiate. A visitation will be held from 9-11 AM prior to the service. The burial, with full military honors, will be in Indiantown Gap National Cemetery, Annville, Pa. on Monday November 4, 2024, at 2:30PM. Masoic services will be held at 10:45 AM Memorial contributions may be made to New Bloomfield Borough, East McCure Street, New Blomfield, Pa. 17068 The Boyer Family is honored to handle the arrangements for our friend and colleague.
