Dana Bentsel

Dana Marie Bentsel, 55, passed peacefully on February 3, 2023 at home surrounded by family. Born in Harrisburg, the daughter of Charles Duncan, Jr. and the late Joan (Hetzel) Kutz, she was a long-time resident of Shermans Dale after meeting her husband, Joel. Dana retired from the Pennsylvania House of Representatives, where she was employed for 29 years and had worked in various positions. She enjoyed reading her Bible, reality tv shows, going to the casino, hoping to strike it rich on the lottery, cruising and traveling (but no flying). In addition to her mother, she was proceed in death by brothers, Shane and Charles F. Duncan III, a sister, Sunny Lynn Duncan, her mother-in-law, Louise Bentsel, father-in-law, Marlin Bentsel, and brother-in-law Timothy Gibbons. Survivors include her husband of 31 years Joel Bentsel; daughter, Tori Putt and her husband Joshua of New Bloomfield, step-son, Rhen Bentsel and his wife, Elise of Hummelstown. Dana is survived by her grandchildren Shay and Ridge Putt and Grady and Addison Bentsel. She is also survived by her father, Charles (Millie) Duncan, Jr. of Shermans Dale, her step-father Dave Kutz of Landisburg, sister, Dori (Chris) Barnard of Landisburg, sister, Bonnie L. Gibbons of Blairs Mill, brothers, Bret Duncan and Shawn (Kara) Duncan of Shermans Dale, and brother, Jonathan (Jessica) Adams of Millersburg. John 14: 1-3 (1) Let not your heart be troubled: ye believe in God, believe also in me. (2) In my Father’s house are many mansions: if it were not so, I would have told you. I go to prepare a place for you. (3) And if I go and prepare a place for you, I will come again, and receive you unto myself; that where I am, there ye may be also. For those who knew Dana, she is now in the place God prepared for her. Ecclesiastes 3: 1-4 (paraphrased) There is a time for everything a time to live, a time to die, a time to laugh and a time to mourn. A memorial service will be celebrated at the Emmanuel Baptist Church, 4681 E. Trindle Road, Mechanicsburg, on Saturday, February 11, 2023 at 11 AM, with the Pastor Steve Crews officiating. Inurnment will follow in Westminster Memorial Garden at the convenience of the family. Visitation is Saturday from 10 to 11 AM.
