Audrey Jeanne Wolpert

Audrey Jeanne Wolpert, 96, of 125 N. Market Street, Duncannon died peacefully Saturday, June 28, 2025 in Homeland Center, Harrisburg. Born Friday, December 21, 1928, in Duncannon, she was the daughter of the late John W. Seabold and Katharyn Matlack Seabold Earnest. She, and her late husband (2016) P. J. Wolpert, owned and operated the family business. She was a member of the Duncannon High School Alumni Association. She was a multi-talented, community oriented, loving wife, mother, sister and grandmother. Her talents and contributions to the community were many and are worthy of recognition: Master Gardener. Co-Director of the Red Cross "Learn to Swim” program. She volunteered at Little Buffalo State Park — built the Butterfly Garden and served on the advisory board for the Mill Project. She was a member of the Perry Historians. She was a very accomplished seamstress — she made her sons’ childhood clothing, bold-checkered swimwear for the entire family, clothing for her sister and many others, designed and made outfits for the high school cheerleaders, dresses for high school plays and wedding dresses. She loved cooking and baking for family and friends. She excelled at many crafts and artistic painting. She was an avid reader and shared books with family and friends. She loved Jeopardy! She enjoyed traveling to such destinations as Italy, Spain, France, Brazil, Mexico and Hawaii. She enjoyed downhill skiing for many years. She loved Barnegat Light: the town, beach, lighthouse and inlet. She loved her pets: Scamper, G.D. Regie, JD, Taffy, Muffet, Sassy, Willie, and Abbey. She was very active out doors and typical summer afternoon for her was to take her three young boys for a canoe trip across the Susquehanna to a favorite rock to swim and picnic. And she loved gardening. She was the widow of Melvin James Wolpert Jr. (2016). Survived by: Three sons, Melvin J. Wolpert III and wife Joan of Connecticut, Kris E. Wolpert and wife Gunhilde of Dauphin and Michael J. Wolpert and wife Sandra of Duncannon. A sister, Suzy Worner of Duncannon. 4 grandsons, Joseph, Seth, Matthew and Joel. 4 great grandchildren, Isaac, Reagan, Oscar and Dakota. 5 step grandchildren. Three nieces, Pat, Julie and Jennifer. Four nephews, Kim, Jerry, Bryan and Byron. She was proceeded in death by a brother, Gerald Seabold; step father, James Ernest; and a niece, Laura Lee. A celebration of her life will be held at 11 Am on Saturday, July 12, 2025, in the Boyer Family Funeral Home, 230 North High Street, Duncannon. A visitation will be held one hour prior to the service. Memorial contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society. The Boyer Family is honored to handle the arrangements for the Wolpert Family.
