James Robert Stewart Obituary - Visitation & Funeral Information

James Robert Stewart, 68, of Main Street, New Bloomfield, died on Wednesday, December 13, 2017 at his residence. Born April 1, 1948 in Pittsburgh and was the son of Ann (Urban) Stewart of Pittsburgh and the late John Stewart. Mr. Stewart was a retired Lieutenant with the Capitol Police in Harrisburg. He was a graduate of the University of Pittsburgh with a degree in Police Science. He was also a member of the Social Order of Owls, Newport. New Bloomfield VFW Post 7463, Newport VFW Post 34 and American legion post 177 and was member of New Bloomfield Sportsmen s Association. He was the widower of Darlene May (Sherman) Stewart (2008). In addition to his mother, he is survived by a son, Shawn Stewart and wife Elizabeth of Shippensburg, a daughter, Julie Smith and husband Alan of O'Fallon, Illinois, a brother, Jack Stewart of Virginia; two sisters, Nancy Stewart-Jug and husband Fred of Pittsburgh and Marleen Yuran and husband David of Monroeville. Services will be held at 11 AM on Tuesday, December 19, 2017 in the Boyer Family Funeral Home, 101 W. Main Street, New Bloomfield. Rev. Anthony C. Hill will officiate. Burial will be in Newport Cemetery. Friends may call at the funeral home one hour prior to the service. The Boyer Family is honored to handle the arrangements for the Stewart Family.
