Gary W. Grose, 75, of Hunters Valley, Liverpool, died peacefully and went into the arms of Jesus on Monday, January 10, 2022, at UPMC West Shore Hospital, Mechanicsburg. Born November 26, 1946, in Millerstown, he was the son of the late Walter and Margaret (Foltz) Leonard. Gary was a 1964 graduate of Greenwood High School, where he played basketball and soccer. Gary retired from the Navy Depot in Mechanicsburg after 25 years of service. Gary had a profound love for the outdoors, spending his time gardening, hunting, fishing or sitting on the porch swing. He loved his country and fellow veterans, having served 3 years in Vietnam. Gary spent many years in area churches, volunteering his time ministering to others through teaching the Bible and sharing his passion for Bible prophecy. Gary enjoyed reading, watching college football and racing, only rooting for Chevrolet teams. He loved spending time with his children and their families, especially at Thanksgiving, which was his favorite holiday. Gary is survived by his loving wife of more than 47 years, Mildred (Woodruff); daughter Kimberly Kitner and her husband, Keith, of Lewisberry; daughter Tracy Manning and her husband, Brian, of Danville; son Mark Grose and his wife, Becky, of Danville; and seven beloved grandchildren: Jack, Kylie, Anna, Madelyn, Brynlee, Emma and Karlyn. A viewing will be held from 5pm-7pm on Saturday, January 15, 2022 in the Boyer Family Funeral Home, New Bloomfield. A private burial, with military honors, will be held at 11am on Wednesday, January 19, 2022 at the Newport Cemetery, Newport. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to Journey Christian Church, designated to the Missions Fund, 10110 William Penn Hwy, Thompsontown, PA 17094 or to the VFW, Processing Center, P.O.
