Richard A. McMinn

Richard A. McMinn, 61, of Cold Storage Road, New Bloomfield, went to be with the Lord on Tuesday, February 4, 2025, in UPMC West Shore, Mechanicsburg. He was born August 6, 1963, in Harrisburg and was the son of the late James R. McMinn Sr. and Rosanna M. Wolfe McMinn. A devoted husband, father, grandfather, son, and brother, Richard is survived by his wife Linda Shaw McMinn; daughter, Samantha McMinn and husband Dustin Lopp, and son, Jamie McMinn, and daughter, Michelle McMinn; grandchildren, Kalei Arnett, Christopher Arnett, Kalissa Lopp, Carter Gorsline, Ryker McMinn, and Aleeya Wetzel; brother James R. McMinn Jr. and wife Deb McMinn, sister Donna Witmer, and brother John McMinn. Richard’s favorite song was “Ring Of Fire” by Johnny Cash, and he was a proud member of the New Hope Church of God in Carlisle. In a moment that truly reflected his work ethic and dedication, Richard won the top prize, a Working Man’s PHD signed by Aaron Tippin, in a radio station contest that asked people to write about someone they knew who worked tirelessly and with passion. Though words will never fully embrace the incredible person Richard was, those who were fortunate enough to know him truly understood the kindness, warmth, and unwavering love he shared so effortlessly. He was a man of generosity, a heart overflowing with love, and a selflessness that knew no limits. To know him was to be loved by him, genuinely and unconditionally. Above all, Richard was a family man. His wife, children, grandchildren, and siblings were his greatest pride, and he would have moved mountains for them without hesitation. Every sacrifice, every effort, and every moment of hard work was for their happiness and well-being. His love for his family knew no bounds, and he made sure they felt it every day. People were drawn to Richard not just because of his warmth, but because he made everyone feel seen, valued, and cared for. No matter how much or how little he had, he always put others before himself, offering help with open arms and without hesitation. He would give his last dollar, his warmest coat, or whatever he had to someone in need, never thinking twice about himself. He was someone you could always count on, dependable and steady, showing up in the best of times and the worst. No matter the situation, Richard was there, offering his support without expectation, simply because he cared. He was never jealous of others’ success but instead beamed with pride when those around him achieved great things, always celebrating their wins as if they were his own. Richard’s smile and spirit were as warm as his laughter, brightening even the darkest days and reminding us all to find joy in the little moments. People naturally gravitated toward him, drawn in by his lightheartedness and the comforting presence he carried wherever he went. Even in the toughest times, he reassured us that everything would work out in the end. He faced life’s challenges with grace, acceptance, and an unshakable optimism that brought comfort to those around him. Richard leaves behind a legacy of love, strength, laughter, and selflessness, a legacy that will live on in the countless lives he touched. Though our hearts ache in his absence, we find comfort in knowing that his spirit remains in the love he gave, the kindness he showed, and the family he cherished so deeply. Rest peacefully, Richard. We find peace in knowing you are now in Heaven, surrounded by love, watching over us with the same warmth and kindness you shared in life, a light that will never fade. We love you so much.
