Milton Roy Bower Obituary - Visitation & Funeral Information

So we fix our eyes not on what is seen, but on what is unseen, since what is seen is temporary, but what is unseen is eternal. - 2 Corinthians 4: Milton (Milt) R. Bower, (76) of Landisburg, PA went to be with our Heavenly Father on Wednesday, November 8, 2023, in Carlisle, PA. Milt was born on May 24, 1947, in Carlisle to the late Milton R. Bower and his surviving mother, Gladys (Sheibley) McCracken. Milt was a 1967 graduate of West Perry and went on to graduate from The Williamsport Area Community College (Pennsylvania College of Technology). He also served his country in the Army National Guards from 1969-1974 as a helicopter mechanic. Milt was well known in the community for his auto body business, Milt’s Garage & Body Shop, from which he retired. He was also known for his avid love of deer, turkey, and coon hunting, as well as hunting for morel mushrooms, and casting fishing lines from the streams to the bays – anything that kept him in the great outdoors he found extremely enjoyable. Milt was also active in local softball leagues, enjoyed bowling with his friends and granddaughters. He loved golfing and spending time with his buddies and his family. Milt was always good for a laugh with his quick jabbing wit and sarcastic sense of humor. In addition to his father, he was preceded in death by his two sisters Barbara Neff and Gloria White. Surviving in addition to his mother, are two daughters, Stacey (Rodney) Potteiger, and Stefanie (Tom) Gingrich; a brother Andrew (Cindy) Bower. Four granddaughters, Aysha (Mitch) Michaud, Allison, LeAnn, and Rachel Gingrich; two grandsons, Alex (Courtney) Potteiger, Tyler (Alyssa) Potteiger; and nieces and nephews.
