Mary Ann Gouak

Mary Ann Gouak, 76 years old, went to be with her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ on September 17th at her home in New Bloomfield surrounded by the unconditional love from her family. Born on November 9, 1948 in Germantown, PA, Mary Ann was the beloved daughter of the late William and Mary Cagno and sister to Dick, Jean, Barbara, and Jim. Mary Ann married the love of her life, David W. Gouak Sr., on May 1, 1971. Their bond began as childhood friends in second grade and blossomed into a lifelong partnership rooted in deep affection, strong faith, and mutual respect. Together, they recently celebrated 54 years of marriage – a testament to their unwavering commitment. Mary Ann’s journey as a wife, mother, and Grammy was defined by a profound dedication to building a loving family, grounded in strong values, and steadfast support for one another. Her life’s work is notable through the strength of her family’s unity, the caring energy she instilled in those around her, and the legacy of love she cultivated. Mary Ann was a loving and patient mom to four children, Sandy Sheaffer of Belleville, PA, David Gouak Jr. of Sparks, MD, Jonathan Gouak of Duncannon, PA, and Stephen Gouak of Lampasas, TX and effortlessly extended that compassion to each of their spouses. As a dedicated Grammy to 15 grandchildren, she was a constant source of love, encouragement, and wisdom. Her faith was the cornerstone of every aspect of her life. She held a deep and abiding love for the Lord Jesus and served diligently as the pastor’s wife in every church her devoted husband led over 35 years. Her quiet strength, grace, and caring nature were a blessing to all who were privileged to know her. She found joy in the simple pleasures of life – reading a good book, crafting intricate needlepoint, soaking in warm days at the beach, and making lasting memories during precious Gouak Family Vacations. She often engaged in heartfelt conversations and shared comfort through her guidance. Her grandchildren will always treasure the laughter-filled moments spent with their beloved Grammy, especially those spirited games of UNO. Mary Ann leaves behind a legacy of love, faith, family – a life beautifully lived and deeply cherished. A celebration of life will be held on Saturday, October 4th at the Church of the Living Christ of Loysville - 2401 Fort Robinson Road, Loysville, PA 17047. Friends may join the family starting at 10am for visitation with the services to begin promptly at 11am.
