Jacqueline Lois Bryson-Kapp

LANDISBURG Jacqueline Lois Bryson-Kapp passed away on Friday, November 20, 2015 at her home in Landisburg surrounded by her family. Jackie was born January 26, 1928 in Harrisburg to Ruth Sue Mason. She was raised by her loving grandparents, Walter and Carrie Blanche Bell in Highspire. She was a 1946 graduate of Highspire High School and Harrisburg Area Community College. To say she was a "hard working" woman would be an understatement. She was a dental hygienist, an LPN, and a designer of handicapped accessible homes. Jackie was a loving mother, grandmother, aunt and friend. She loved the arts and was an accomplished seamstress, watercolorist and crafter. She loved to cook and could feed a crowd just by adding a couple of potatoes to a pot of stew. Magazines have published her recipes. A visitor to her home, family or friend, never left without a meal. For many years, Jackie was the proprietress of the "Twin Meadows Glen Bed and Breakfast" at her home. She hosted and entertained guests from all over the world including Australia, Japan, Italy and Spain. Her tea parties and wedding receptions were legendary. In recent years she became interested in her Irish ancestry and loved exploring the internet for information about her ancestors. In 1946 she married the love of her life, Richard Earl Bryson. Together they raised a family and created a welcoming home in Perry County. Dick passed away in 1981 after 35 years of marriage. Jackie married Kenneth Kapp in 1990 and he passed away in 1991. Surviving are her loving children, Karen McVitty and husband Vance of Landisburg, Susan Allardice and husband John of Bradfordwoods, PA., Richard Bryson and wife Debora of Landisburg, and Wendy Bryson of Landisburg. 10 grandchildren, Bryan McVitty and Patrick McVitty, Shawn Lyter, Benjamin Miller and Theodore Miller, Maria MacAteer, David Bryson, John Allardice Jr., Scott Allardice and Julie Ray Allardice. 14 great grandchildren, Amber, Catelyn, Ryan, Emma, Grace, Duncan, Alexander , Daniel, Tripp, Cash, Jett, Dabin, Taebin and Subin. Each one loved and cherrished by their "Nannie." A celebration of Jackie's life will be held at 3 PM on Sunday, November 29, 2015 at Mt. Zion Lutheran Church in Landisburg where she was a member. Interment will follow in the church cemetery. Rev. David Peterson and Rev. Robert Custer will officiate.
