Bonnie (Kerstetter) Koltrider

Bonnie L. (Kerstetter) Koltrider, (63) of New Bloomfield, PA peacefully drew her last breath while at home, in the arms of her children during the early hours of August 15th, 2019. After a 7 year battle with cancer, Bonnie chose to leave this earth to be reunited with her loved ones of whom have passed before. Bonnie was born and raised in Blair County, and later moved to Perry County to raise her family. Preceding her in death were her husbands, Ronald L Miller and Keith A Koltrider, as well as her significant other Eric Thebes, of which she cared for and loved each with significance throughout her life. While Bonnie was a woman of many talents, you could often find her crocheting gifts for her family and friends. She was especially known for her ability to embrace the holiday spirit. At Christmas, she left no stone unturned and no Christmas light dimmed. She hosted an over-the-top celebration, with mountains of gifts for her dearly beloved children, grandchildren, and great grandchildren of which always included a something handmade and personalized. Bonnie always greeted family and friends with mountains of perfectly baked, and stored cookies. Although her sugar cookies were an all time family favorite, it was her handmade gifts that melted hearts. Bonnie appreciated long talks with family, friends and visitors. Another favorite past time was her time spent with her grandchildren completing puzzles. She had an infectious laugh that could fill a room with smiles and an array of dated, yet groovy dance moves to liven any dance floor. Bonnie found joy in caring for others. She was known to be hard on the outside but soft on the inside. Bonnie's most cherished of gifts she left behind is a legacy of her fierce independence, strong will, strength and determination in the veins of her living family members. She imparted the spirit of a fighter and a lover to those she embraced and will not soon be forgotten and always loved by many, beyond words could ever say. Bonnie is survived by her son, Scott Kerstetter, of New Bloomfield, her daughter, Tina VanOrden (Eddie VanOrden), of New Bloomfield, her daughter, Tammy Salas-Miller (Victor Salas Barrios) of Mechanicsburg, her daughter Brenda Miller-Morrow (Jeremy Morrow) of New Bloomfield. Bonnie was the proud grandmother of thirteen grandchildren, Hunter, Beth, Lexi, Joey, Cody, Jake, M'Kayla, Charlee, Landon, Olivia, Jayden, Tyler and Nevaeh, and five great-grandchildren. Services to celebrate the life of Bonnie will be held Saturday, August, 31st beginning at 11:00am, at Boyer Funeral Home, 101 W. Main Street, New Bloomfield, PA 17068. A celebration of life and fellowship will be held directly thereafter at the New Bloomfield VFW, where Bonnie was a member. The family requests that monetary donations be given to the funeral home at the service.
