William Walter Way Jr., 78, of Spring Road, Shermans Dale went to be with the Lord Wednesday, July 27, 2022 in Penn State Hershey Medical Center, Hershey, PA. Born December 23, 1943 in Duncannon and was the son of the late William Walter Way Sr. and Kathryn R. Forney. Bill was a gentle giant and a loving husband, father, grandfather, great grandfather, uncle and brother. He was a 1963 graduate of Perry Joint High School and a retired employee of Quaker Oats Co. He was a member of Shermans Dale United Methodist Church, Shermans Dale Fire Co., Shermans Dale Ambulance Club and Shermans Dale Lions Club. He was a Harley-Davidson enthusiast and enjoyed hunting and fishing. Surviving is his wife of 58 years, Carol June (Souder) Way. 4 Daughters, Melissa B. Freeland and Mi Lea M. Way both of Shermans Dale. Marena N. Weaver and husband Sam of Landisburg and Marsha J. Fourlong and husband Cesar of Puebla, Mexico. A brother, David Way and wife Chari of Mt. Holly Springs. 12 grandchildren, Ashley L. Way (Josey Fought), Nicole B. DaShiell (Justin), Earl E. Freeland III (Megan Boyer), Carly J. Nesbit, Courtney A. Antel (Rik), Philip S. Weaver (Rebekah), Cesar Michael Fourlong (Nickie VasSua), Aranza C. Fourlong and Sayde M. Fourlong, Jason L. Leach (Samantha), David L. Leach (Jessica) and William J. Leach. 16 great grandchildren, Kayla, Emma, Mason, Aspen, Sean, Kathryn, Cobi, Brenden, Lillian, Calvin, Gracie, Judah, Brian, Gabriel, Serenity and Donta. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by son, Calvin L. Leach and great grandson, Andre W. DaShiell. Services will be held on Tuesday, August 2, 2022 in Shermans Dale United Methodist Church, Windy Hill Road, Shermans Dale. A viewing will be held from 10-11am with a Funeral Service at 11am. Pastor Scott Ryan will officiate. Burial will be in Young’s Church Cemetery, Shermans Dale. In lieu of flowers, the family welcomes donations to be made to Shermans Dale United Methodist Church.
