Howard E. Gunter Obituary - Visitation & Funeral Information

Howard E. Gunter, 78, of Clouser Hollow Road., New Bloomfield, PA, went home to be with the Lord on March 2, 2014 at his Centre Township home surrounded by his family. He was born November 28, 1935 in Baltimore, MD to the late Herman and Elizabeth (Davis) Gunter. He was a retired safety inspector for the Federal Aviation Administration, a navy veteran. He received the Charles Taylor "Master Mechnanic" award. His hobbies were airplanes flying and traveling. Surviving are wife, Colleen E. Gunter of New Bloomfield; Sisters Clara Geckle and husband Ab of Bellville, PA, Maida Hudgins of Mathews, VA and Nancy Reitz and husband Bob of Bellville, PA; Brother David Gunter and wife Nina of Mt. Union, PA; Daughter Rachel Park and husband Charles of Lincoln University, PA; Sons Robert Gunter and wife Char of Mapleton, PA and Shawn Houseman of New Bloomfield PA; Grandsons Robert Gunter of Mt. Union PA, Vernon Keaser of Pocomoke, MD, and Cody Houseman of Elliottsburg, PA; Granddaughter Samantha Gunter of Mapleton, PA; Great-Granddaughter Vanessa Keaser of Pocomoke, MD; Great-Grandson Vernon Keaser of Pocomoke, MD. He is preceded in death by sisters Glades Lamberton of Mt. Union, PA, Virginia Gunter of Baltimore, MD, Toni Marantio of Baltimore, MD, and son Gene Houseman of New Bloomfield, PA. Services will be held Thursday, March 6, 2014 at 11 AM at Boyer Family Funeral Home and Cremation Services, 101 West Main Street, New Bloomfield, PA. Viewing will be one hour prior to the service. Military honors will be rendered by New Bloomfield VFW Post 7463 at the funeral home.
