Harry L. Welcomer 4/9/26 - 12/10/20 So we fix our eyes not on what is seen, but on what is unseen, since what is seen is temporary, but what is unseen is eternal. - 2 Corinthians 4:18 Harry L. Welcomer, 94, of New Bloomfield passed away December 10, 2020 at Premier at Perry Village Nursing Home. Born April 9, 1926 in Harrisburg, he was the son of the late Harry and Mary (Davies) Welcomer Harry was a patriot and served the United States Navy during WWII. He retired from Bethlehem Steel after several decades of being a welder. Harry was a member of the Newport First Church of God where he will be remembered as a kind, generous and faithful man. Harry could often be found playing games and joking with the young ones. He was an avid outdoorsman; he enjoyed hunting, fishing and spending time at the river on his boat. Pensive and reserved, Harry was not overly talkative but he loved family gatherings especially at the river. In addition to his parents, Harry is preceded in death by his wife of 45 years, Beatrice (Keys) and siblings: Esther McNaughton, Mary Jane Roush, and Harvey Welcomer. Surviving is his nephew Samuel Lopp and wife Kimberly of New Bloomfield and two granddaughters: Diana Forsyth and husband Chris of New Bloomfield and Brandi Pechart of New Bloomfield. SERVICE DETAILS Graveside services will be held at the Bloomfield Cemetery, New Bloomfield, on December 15, 2020 at 11am with Pastor Cheryl Dorman officiating. Masks and social distancing will be observed. The Boyer Family is honored to handle arrangements for the Welcomer Family.
