Dorothy Ann Billow

December 31, 1943 - December 21, 2021

Dorothy Ann Billow, 77, of Shermansdale, PA, passed peacefully in her sleep on the morning of December 21, 2021. Dorothy was born on December 31, 1943, the youngest daughter and middle child of the late Paul Edward Billow Sr. and the late Elsie Irene Billow (Blaine). Dorothy was a much loved sister, mother, grandmother, and great grandmother. She leaves behind a multigenerational legacy of six children, sixteen grandchildren, and many great grandchildren. She is survived by her sister Janet L. Schultz (Billow), brother Paul E. Billow Jr., sister-in-law Pam Billow, her daughters Patricia Ann Passmore, Diane Marie Bowers, Rose Marie Strauser, Jennifer Lee Hammaker, and her sons Charles Bradley “Brad” Passmore and Anthony James Passmore. Though the pain of those she leaves behind is deep, there is solace in knowing she is reunited with those she lost. Her eldest son, James “Jimmy” Passmore, who tragically preceded her in death at the age of 11. And Michael E. Hammaker, the man with whom she shared her love and her life until his passing at the age of 76 in 2016. Affectionately known as Dot, Dorothy was a beautiful soul with a warm and generous heart. Her kindness, intelligence, and quick wit were apparent to all who knew her. Through life’s many obstacles and struggles, she worked hard to give her children all that she could. She was a self made-woman, having worked hard to establish her own business, becoming self-employed at a young age. Her love for her children motivated her to grow and maintain her cleaning business for over four decades while raising and caring for all of them. She touched the lives and hearts of many lifelong clients along the way. Dot had ample love for all of her many grandchildren and great grandchildren. Visits with them never failed to put a smile on her face. Her faith in God was strong and her mind was open to all of the infinite mysteries the universe has to offer. The possibility of the unknown and making contact with intelligent beings yet to be discovered always piqued her interest and curiosity. She found beauty in the little things, surrounding herself and her home with flowers and sentimental keepsakes collected over the years. She found joy and fulfillment in adding to that beauty through gardening and crocheting. Dot gave selflessly and without a desire for recognition or reimbursement. She was always there for others in times of need, generous and hard working until the end. Though she will be sorely missed, she lives on in all of our hearts. We are so very thankful for our time with her and celebrate her life and memory. We carry her with us today and always. Funeral Services wil be held at 11 AM on Monday, December 27, 2021 in the Bible Baptist Church of New Bloomfield, 1757 New Bloomfield Road. New Bloomield. Pastor James God will officiate. Burial will be in Chestnut Grove Cemetery, Marysville. A viewing will be held one hour prior to the service. The Boyer Family is honored to handle the arrangements for the Billow Family.
